Drawing Sometimes Reveals

Tree of Life-in progress

There are times when I suffer through these drawings. They are attempts to delve into unarticulated questions. Questions without words or any definable intent. This one has been an investigation into the “The Tree of Life,” a symbol that has been in the back of my mind since forever.

I share it now in progress. It has been on the board for over a week. There is no rush to finish. Rather there is a kind of patience that is new to me to let it emerge even more carefully than before. The mystery of it seems more important than the drawing. Over the years, as I have drawn more and more, the forest gets thicker the deeper in I go. The only guide is a search for an inner stillness, which in itself is not an easy discovery.
