84 Drawings

In 2013, after drawing constantly over a three year period, I decided the best place to present my work was in a book. Out of over a 100 drawings I chose 84. The number was not arbitrary. It is a wink to the 84 Mahamudra of Buddha.

“Very good use of black line, cross-hatching and shading to create the illusion of depth. Contrary to what the authoritative critics of modern art assert, “illusion” is not a bad thing, as far as I’m concerned.  — Robert Crumb, Legendary Cartoonist

“The images he has created are truly a testament to an inner struggle that goes beyond ego oriented imagery, where the dictates of the formulations are driven by another force. What a wonderful achievement.” — Richard Wilde, Chairman, School of Visual Arts

…some really beautiful, trippy drawings. —Peter Kuper, author of “Stop Forgetting to Remember”

“Reaching out into the imaginal, he has created what Ibn ‘Arabi would call a barzakh — a reconciling bridge — which occupies the gap between material reality and the world of ideas. Each image draws us deep into questions about what happens when the “real” world is deconstructed back into the various fragments of emotion, thought, and tactile sensation that assemble themselves into our ordinary impressions.” —Lee Van Laer, Parabola Editor, from the foreword to 84 Drawings
